Dear parents, be your child's memory

At the beginning of this journey you are the child's hands, but also their memory. The Church calls you the first teachers of faith, and this booklet is the space in which you turn that service into love.

• ◆Record the beginnings. Fill the pages about the joy of the baptism, the first hands joined in prayer, and all the graces the child will one day be unable to remember alone.
• ◆Give your testimony. Write how you felt as you entrusted your child to God. One day these lines will be one of the most beautiful proofs of your love.
• ◆Build the “Domestic Church.” Let filling the booklet become a small family ritual with a candle and prayer, through which faith passes from generation to generation.

And when you grow up…

One day, take up the pen and continue writing your personal dialogue with the Lord. In joy, record the moments in which you recognised His gifts. In trials, return to these pages. They will remind you of the times He carried you on His wings (Ps 91:4), gave you strength (Phil 4:13), and when His light scattered your darkness (Jn 12:46).

How to fill this booklet

It grows together with you. Fill it slowly, with love and prayer.

• ◆Record facts, but also feelings. Beside the dates of the sacraments, write what you felt, which graces you prayed for, or what your loved ones wished for you.
• ◆Include family and community. Let parents, godparents and grandparents leave their prayers and blessings. Their faith is your roots.
• ◆Don't forget the small encounters. God often hides in the details, in a conversation that touched the heart, in a pilgrimage, or in a prayer answered in silence.
• ◆Let it be a space of honesty. Write to God with an open heart. He loves your truth.
